Good Evening, Keeper!Hey, y’all! Happy Monday! Margaret Cowan here, Founding Keeper and Executive Director. As you know, we always strive to keep our supporters informed and connected. Please accept our apologies for missing last week’s email. Unfortunately, we recently experienced a series of events that resulted in the decision to leave our current office space. Our shared office space was no longer a safe environment for our organization and those we serve. Because of this, we are currently operating out of my home (again) and storage space. Please send prayers and positive vibes our way as we search for our next location. If you are able to offer a helping hand as we transition, whether through in-kind support or a generous donation, please know we are grateful. This week’s message is two-fold. It serves as our weekly blog providing you with updates AND it is a request for your support on #GivingTuesday. I know, I know Tuesday is tomorrow, but as you sit down tomorrow to make your #GivingTuesday donations, we ask that you keep IAMSK in mind. Single mothers need people like you every day. Our services make a difference in the lives of these mothers and it is only made possible through your kind donations. If you are unable to give to IAMSK on #GivingTuesday, please consider becoming a monthly donor. Below are our giving tiers, but please know ANY amount you pledge will truly help us continue to fulfill our mission to “alleviate many of the stressors which prevent single mothers from becoming successful.” As always, we appreciate you and all you do for IAMSK. Thanks to you, single mothers have access to the resources and support they need. $25 each month provides a single mom with access to a monthly outing $50 each month provides a single mom-led family with cleaning and laundry supplies for a month or fuel for the week $100 each month provides a single mom-led family with food for a week (maybe more) $250 each month provides a single mom-led family with all of the above PLUS access to childcare for the monthly outing ****Our outings are essential to the services we provide because they give single mothers the opportunity to build a network of support and provide them the wonderful chance to enjoy an evening with other single mothers without the stressors they face every day. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: When donating on the website, after selecting your 'donation frequency', select the donation amount of your choice. Good Afternoon, Keeper! Our 3rd Annual Fall-Thru was a HUGE success! We had an awesome time over at Ed Rice Community Center. The weather was amazing and we met some new people who had heard about us through Facebook! ***A word from our Founding Keeper*** Y'all! The people really support I Am My Sister's Keeper! My heart is so FULL right now! I want to give a special thanks to our board (Roslyn Postlewaite, Brenda Cowan, Wendolyn Byrd, Deirdra Royston) and my family. They truly are the REAL MVPs! Always. They hold a Keeper up like you wouldn't believe. To our social media guru, Lillian Drew, you know what a blessing you are to us! I tell you often. To our Moxie Way sistas, Marissa Williamson and Whitney Watson, your ministry is necessary and appreciated. Good Afternoon, Keeper! Hey, Y'all! We hope each and every one of you are having an AWESOME Wednesday! Our Fall-Thru is 18 days away and we are soooo excited! If you or someone you know is interested in being a vendor at this event, please reach out as soon as possible! We had a BLAST this past weekend! Not only did we celebrate our Founding Keeper's birthday, but we also attended TWO community events on the SAME day. The first event we attended was the Community Baby Shower hosted by Amerigroup at the Porter-Leath Children's Center in Orange Mound. We had such a good time mingling with other organizations in the area and being able to meet and connect with many of the single moms that came out. After the Community Baby Shower, we attended the Grand Opening at Oasis of Hope! There was food, games, AND bingo! We had a great time celebrating this milestone for OOH. Our Mental Health Retreat starts THIS Friday! We are so excited to be able to host this event for our moms. We have many presenters who are excited to be able to teach our moms some tips and tricks on keeping our Mental Health stable as we are on this journey of Motherhood. We are still accepting donations! This was a lot but we just want to keep you in the loop!
